When i look at our city i think more about what we are up against in this city. Have you ever notice what

and where we spend our money? A few yrs ago detroiters spent 1.2 billion dollars outside the city and

That was just what we spent outside. Let us examine some of the things we use to do versus things we

Do now. We use to spend our money with our businesses like Auto service Dr. Ural Hill told me about his

Dad who owned the gas station on 8 mile in the 70's. My parents use to own Charter busses and travel

To various places while my Dad would do Gospel concerts as well. We would play with each other and

Just take on life. Mr Mosley had his store, Mr morris on green lawn had his own store, The Mc donalds

On 8 mile and woodingham was also black owned, we were thriving as a city. All the while this city was

going thru "white blite" so many colors moved out to see a better life away from black folks who owned

Thriving businesses. We owned beauty supplies and still today own Salons, Barber shops, Car dealers,

Gas stations and many other establisments. 80's happen and "we chase" crime starts to grow with

School shootings and Drug sales and a reduction in business ownership, we then began to see other

Nationalites own more and we own less and yet we continue to see the children who get educated not

Come back to the very schools who helped them advance. Did we not pass on our businesses

To our children? You see the system made it very easy for a women not to have a man in the house just

To feed the kids and you all know today without a father in a childs life we get what we have today as

A matter of fact I sometime feel as though the system created a group of people all over the world to be

used just for community service.

Back to the city, the 80's seen Drug king pins and this was shown as the only way other then pimping

And the auto industry as a way to get out of our city. "We follow" the 90's brought on a Crack epidemic

That many seen as an opportunity to get rich quick and thus began a very high Drop out rate that

Taught us in this city we did not need a education that men could just work out of the streets and the

auto industry. Mean while The school system had many leaders stealing from the kids education just look

the fact that what some consider to be a all black school system had no music education, black history,

Clean books, caring teachers, honorable leaders and quality parenting. A few of us messed it up for

Others so the kids sports could not even go at night for all the fighting and violence, so they had

Games at a time when most parents were at work, so another event where the kids could not get

Support from there parents. The system has failed many and once again we all did this. As all of this

Was going on Black busineses became few and today we own very little in this city, and we go for

anything, "but we never stand" this is the effect of reverse RACISM. I did a little research and I

Found a few of our problems in our city, I call it the Jenga rules, see our politician have been stealing

for years and that includes the suburbs, the difference is cents versus the Dollars. I know you might

not care for this but it's the truth. Look we go to all these other places that give nothing back. For

Example the Liquor stores, the Coney Island's and many other businesses does not give to the kids.

Have ever noticed a youth team sponsored by any of these places, no you have not and to put you

up on something coney islands just three of them buy over 7 million dollars in meat yet they sponsor no

little leagues, nothing. We spend with these places, beauty supplies, clothing stores in the burbs, just

Look at fairlane, and the hair weaving businesses we are now down to just 3-5% in that, it has us

Spending 3.5 billion and losing our hand in that everyday. Emiy quote:"Negative talk brings negative

Results" Encourage me I'm young.

I'm letting you know i have taken a STAND, for over five yrs now I

Have been laying shirts in this city where kids have been killed that is how I started EMIY and today It

Amazes me that we have not covered the city with this, why you ask? Some say we should make it

Sweet with skulls and beeds, or just change what you say to something with a negative tone to it, I was

Also told to add a comma and get a non profit, But you know what I have seen people at there lowest

And we brought hope. Raven who was burned to death at 7 yrs old, her mom came on Tv in the emiy

During her toughest time why it brought her peace when it seemed there was none, or when I lost the

Nephew who was killed while taking the garbage out after his sisters party.

His dad came out after I found it was My nephew and hugged me for 10 minutes, or even the woman at

the credit union who screamed we Saved her son's life in the credit union, We are just one of the many

solutions out here and I hope you Got my message which is if you want to save this city we all must take

a Stand! We have and it is now Moving thru your mind and we need you to help us have the whole

world say, what we need them to say and that's "Encourage Me I'm young"

Remember Motown left EMIY is here to stay!
