Uplifting Our Children, Inspiring Unity and Celebrating Our Culture

UniTee Design is a social entrepreneurial, youth education and ethnic empowerment enterprise that is helping to better educate today’s children and teens by connecting our people and maximizing our resources. Caring citizens, parents, students, schools, groups, businesses, churches, and many others, are working with us to create more academic successes.

“UniTees” (custom tee shirts proudly featuring the red, black and green [RBG] colors of African American culture) are used to empower and better connect youth with our rich history and heritage to uplift self-esteem and self-identity. And sales of UniTees help fund and develop a variety of youth education programs and initiatives.

We also customize tee shirts for people, projects and special events such as family reunions, church and corporate outings and more.

The UniTee “Funraising” Program helps youth in schools, churches and community centers raise funds for good causes by selling “UniTee” Shirts. It’s a wonderful way to build teamwork, spread unity, and nurture young entrepreneurs. And we’ll even design a new “UniTee” with your group’s logo on it.

A new educational program for African American youth called “I Can Do Anything” is a powerful curriculum offered by UniTee Design and Historical Inspirations. This program gives students valuable insight into various career options and opportunities by highlighting the significant achievements that famous African Americans have made in mathematics, architecture, science, law, entrepreneurialism, and more. “I Can Do Anything” impacts our youth with greater knowledge, self-identity and self-esteem.

UniTee Design has also developed an engaging teen entrepreneurial program to empower students with a strong understanding of business and marketing principles. The goal of this curriculum is to teach important professional, social and business skills to students, and better prepare them for the real “working” world. This program will be launched in 21 Detroit junior high and high schools the first quarter of 2009.

The Better Detroit Youth Movement is a volunteer-based coalition committed to establishing higher levels of communication, cooperation and collaboration among youth and community service providers. This effort will result in the development of a Youth Resource Guide for Detroit children and teens. The BDYM is also producing a television show entitled “Celebrating Our Children” for airing in the Detroit market. It is my hope to create similar “movements” in Atlanta, New York City and Oakland in the near future.

The urgency to revive the power of our people in unity to achieve more positive and productive outcomes for our youth is obvious. As a proponent in the belief we are strongest and at our best when we rise as one, I welcome collaborations towards a common cause and for a greater good.

Let’s continue to encourage others to actively participate in uplifting the quality of life and learning for our children.

And, together, we will show the world how beautiful, smart and special they really are.
